A man put a sharp razor to my throat

I was sitting in his chair without my knives or pepper spray. I saw him sterilize his razor before moving it over to my neck. He talked to me about his family in Nicaragua while he did it. Had I not had a towel covering my mouth I would've told him that my family lived in Central America too. I felt the razor moving across my neck and up to my face,  not knowing what he would do next...

Thirty minutes later I walked out of that barber shop in Miami with the best shave I've ever had in my life! (gotcha)

So I'm here in Miami until Friday (or early Saturday) visiting my parents. I just found out a couple days into my hitchhiking adventure that they'd be in the U.S. for about a week, and although my first thought was 'great, I'll hitch down to Miami!' a quick reality check made me realize that that would take fucking forever. I've mostly hung out with my parents at or near the hotel, but it's been nice just being with them.

Passed the 200-view mark for this blog so thanks for reading guys! Your comments on facebook and twitter are real spirit-boosters, especially during those long waits. I'll be working my way all the way to San Francisco over the next couple weeks so stay tuned!

Here's me at "The Art of Shaving" store in Miami. Mike, the barber, is a great barber and a great guy! Signing out.
